Czech Virtuosi
The Chamber orchestra Czech Virtuosi (artistic leader: Karel Procházka, orchestra manager: Miloslav Vávra) was founded and started its activity 12 years ago in January 1998.
Its English-Italian name stands for the country of its origin as well as the quality of its artistic performances the ensemble pursues to accomplish in its fruitful concert activities.
At present the ensemble has undertaken more then 350 concerts out of which one third are foreign concerts. The members of the foto orchestruCzech Virtuosi are concert masters and soloists for wind instruments in two Brno orchestras – Brno Philharmonic Orchestra and Janacek Opera. Mozart’s music is the main domain of the orchestra which also determines its basic cast – 33 players. The Czech Virtuosi every year are invited to participate in great international festivals held not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad - in Austria, Belgium, Spain, Holland, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and other countries. Thanks to the above mentioned invitations and special wishes of the organizers the repertoire of the orchestra has been greatly enlarged.
The orchestra has accompanied more then 300 outstanding Czech and foreign instrumentalists, singers and choirs and nearly eighty outstanding artists from all around the world have stood in front of the orchestra as its conductors.
