Robert Kružík was born in Brno in 1990. From the age of six he attended private cello lessons with Bedřich Havlík. The basics of conducting he gained under the Brno National Theatre conductor Evžen Holiš. At the Brno Conservatory he was admitted to the cello class of Miroslav Zicha and to the conducting class of Stanislav Kummer. He finished his studies in Brno as one of the best graduates. At the graduation concerts with Conservatory orchestra he played the Antonín Dvořák Cello Concerto and as a conductor he presented the accompaniment of Sergei Rachmaninoff 's Piano Concerto. Robert successfully participated in many international cello competitions - Competition of Conservatories in Teplice, Dotzauer Cello Competition in Dresden, Bohuslav Martinů Competition and the Prague Spring International Music Competition.Robert attended cello masterclasses with Václav Horák, Jozef Podhoranský, Miroslav Petráš, Jiří Bárta, Michaela Fukačová and Raphael Wallfisch. He was a member of the Moravian Chamber Orchestra for five years. In 2008 he made his debut as a soloist with the Brno Philharmonic and Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2006 he is a member of the Matys quartet, whose repertoire is focused primarily on contemporary Czech and Moravian music. In the season 2009/2010 he was the principal conductor of the Blansko Chamber Orchestra and Helfert Orchestral Association in Brno.At the Music Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague Robert continues to study conducting with Tomáš Koutník, Leoš Svárovský and Lubomír Mátl and he is in the Cello Class of Miroslav Petráš. In the academic year 2012/2013 he enrolled as an exchange student at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in the class of Raphael Wallfisch and in the conducting class of Johannes Schlaefli. In Zurich Robert premiered the opera project Zu keiner Zeit betreten. Since January 2011 he has been principal conductor of the Kolin Philharmonia. In the Summer Conducting Courses in Teplice Robert performed the opera Cosi fan tutte in the Carlsbad Theater together with the North Bohemia Philharmonic of Teplice. In September 2012 he together with the Chamber Orchestra of Pavel Haas launched the Young Prague Festival. In 2012 he cooperated with the Prague Philharmonia, for 2013 his first performance with the Brno Philharmonic is scheduled.</div>
