Pirmin Grehl

Since 2002 Pirmin Grehl has been playing as principal flutist in the Konzerthausorchester Berlin (formerly Berliner Sinfonie Orchester). He also played as a soloist with orchestras like the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart, Berliner Sinfonie Orchester, Rundfunkorchester Kaiserslautern, Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz, Jenaer Philharmoniker. Many solo concertos also took place with chamber orchestras like Kammerorchester Berlin, Münchner Kammerorchester and Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester. He played concerts within the Festspiele Ludwigsburg, the Rheingau Musik Festival and the Festspiele Mecklenburg Vorpommern and the Kammermusikfest Lockenhaus.
He recorded for several radio and TV broadcasting stations. In January 2006 he played his Japan debut concert as soloist with the New Japan Philharmonic orchestra in the Suntory Hall, Tokyo. His CD with works by Schubert and Zender appeared in 2008, further recordings were released by Hänssler and Naxos.
His CD for the NEOS label with works by Jonathan Harvey (together with pianist Florian Hoelscher) was awarded with a Diapason d´or.
Pirmin Grehl was appointed as a professor at the Musikhochschule Luzern from September 2010 on.
