At recital concerts he performs mainly with pianist Ivo Kahánek, with whom he founded Dvořák trio. This ensemble (Ivo Kahánek, Jan Fišer, Tomáš Jamník) are among the finest chamber ensembles in the Czech Republic. In October 2008 they debuted in the Dvořák Hall in the Rudolfinum as holders of Czech Chamber Music Society Award for year 2007. In the same year they performed within the Asian tour in Bangkok, Singapore, Manila, Hong Kong and Shanghai. In July 2010 the ensemble debuted at the Styriarte Festival in Graz, Austria, where performed with great success again in 2015. In October 2013 Dvořák trio released a debut CD with compositions by A. Dvořák and B. Smetana (Supraphon).
Jan Fišer studied at the Prague Conservatory. In 2003 he graduated from Carnegie Mellon University - School of Music. Music education expanded in many master classes in Semmering, Bonn or Meadowmount School of Music, where he studied with Stephen B. Shipps. He has also played at the master classes led by Pinchas Zukerman, Gil Shaham and Joseph Silverstein.
He has been given numerous awards since his youth. In 1996 he became the laureate and the absolute winner of the Kocian International Violin Competition and in the same year was awarded the laureate of the international radio competition Concertino Praga. A year later he triumphed at an international competition the Tribune of UNESCO young musicians in Ljubljana and in 1998 he won the International Violin Competition of Beethoven Hradec.
Jan Fišer played as a guest concert master with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, Bayerische Staatsphilharmonie - Bamberger Symphoniker, Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrucken - Kaiserslautern and Orquesta Clasica Santa Cecilia Madrid.
Recently, Jan Fišer has expanded his activities by conducting.
