Paweł Gusnar

He graduated from the Music Academy in Warsaw. He mastered the play the saxophone in master classes led by Christian Wirth (Paris), Ed Bogaard (Brussels), Lawrence Gwozdz (USA) and Johannes Ernst (Berlin). He belongs to the elite group of saxophonists who successfully combine classical music with jazz and popular music. Each year he performs dozens of concerts in Poland and abroad, both as a soloist and a member of chamber ensembles. Paweł Gusnars is the founder and leader of saxophone quartet Academia.
He has recorded a wide range of programs for radio and television (TVP, TVN, Polsat). His develops his career also as a soloist; he has performed with Concerto Avenna, Capella Bydgostiensis, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Sinfonia Baltica, Orchestra of the Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester), and many others. As a jazz musician he participated in the recording for the label BMG, ARMSmusic, Pomaton EMI, DUX and Polish Radio. In 2007, the Musica Sacra issued his first solo CD entitled 'New Polish Music for saxophone and organ', which was nominated for the music prize Fryderyk Award in 2008.
In recent years, he has been invited as a jury member of several prestigious saxophone competitions. Paweł Gusnars teaches saxophone at the Music Academy of Fryderyk Chopin in Warsaw and at the Music Academy in Lodz. He is an artist of companies Yamaha and Rico D'Addario & Company.
