Jan Mach

In 1993, he won first prize at the competition of conservatories in Kromeriz. He became a laureate of the Leos Janacek Fund for the best graduate of the Conservatory in Brno. In 2002, he advanced to the semi-finals of the Prague Spring and the Talent of the Year. He is a finalist of Jeunesses Musicales Romania. Among his biggest successes belongs undoubtedly the 4th place in the international competition ARD Munich in 2003.
As a soloist he cooperates with leading symphony orchestras - Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Münchener Kammerorchester, etc. In the chamber music field, he has performed with many well-known bodies, with the Prazak Quartet he had premiered and recorded a clarinet quintet by Jindrich Felda, with the Zemlinsky Quartet he has performed Mozart's Quintet for Augsburg Festival and released a CD with chamber music of F. V. Kramar. In June 2010, he led master-classes in Vardo, Norway. Besides working trio Arundo he is a member of the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK. There, a live Mozart's clarinet concerto was recorded at the opening concert of the 76th season, under the baton of chief conductor Jiří Kout.
