Pavla Kovalová
clarinet
She graduated from the Janacek Academy of Fine Arts in Brno, where she studied clarinet with prof. Valtr Vítek. As a member of many orchestras and a cimbalom band Lucina she performed at a number of signifiant european festivals and competitions and in Japan and Corea. She is a director of E. Marhula Art School in Ostrava since 1997.
Pavla Kovalová has many other activities. A distinct part of her work is dedicated to developing and organization of further education of music teachers. Since 2004 she started working as a tutor and later as an outside worker in the functional studies for Art School directors at the Charles University in Prague. Since 1992 She´s being very active in various vocational organizations. She is also a member of Coordination Board of the Association of Art Schools in Czech republic. In 2012 she was awarded AAS prezident ´s prize for her lifelong contribution to development of art schools in Czech. In 2006 she became a founding member of MUZA association, which now joins 48 (of 51) Art Schools in Moravian-Silesian region.
For
all her outstanding educational efforts she was awarded a by the Czech Ministry
of Education, Youth and Sports in 2013.
