He is a laureate of many international competitions. Studied in Prague, London, Berlin, Hilversum and St.Petersburg. Giving concerts throughout Europe, North, South America and Asia, performing wide variety of repertoire from classical period music to world premiere concertos. Karel also regularly engages in chamber music, cooperating with Tokyo, Pavel Haas, Talich String Quartets or famous soprano Edita Gruber. He is a member of PhilHarmonia Octet, Trio Amadeus and Prague State Opera Orchestra. Last but not least, he intensively studies and performs contemporary music. His performances of Stockhausenś Harlekin, or Hillborg Clarinet concerto, containing also dancing and pantomime, have been highly acclaimed. Regularly gives master classes both in Czech and abroad. He has numerous recordings in Czech Radio and on CD’s. His new CD contains Concertos by Francaix, Kubin and Kabelac with Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc.
