Ingvill M. Holter

Ingvill Mjeldheim Holter was born and raised in Bergen. She earned her bachelor's degree at the Grieg Academy of Music in Bergen, where she studied with Hilde Haraldsen Sveen, and she completed her studies with a master's degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, with Professor Helene Gjerris.
Ingvill has extensive concert experience, and she has been a soloist with ensembles and orchestras such as the Baroque Soloists, Bergen Baroque and Collegium Musicum, performing works such as the "Birthday Odes for Queen Mary" by Purcell, "Chandos Anthems" by Handel and "Membra Jesus nostri" by Buxtehude. During Easter 2011, she was a soloist in "Stabat Mater" by Pergolesi in Copenhagen.
On the opera stage Ingvill has done ??a number of exciting roles through her training in Bergen and Copenhagen. At Den Nye Opera in Bergen, she played a flower girl in "Le Nozze di Figaro" by Mozart and in spring 2012, she has played one of the court ladies in the colorful opera "L'Etoile", by Chabrier.
Together with the pianist Marita Kjetland Rabben, Ingvill has formed the duo “Vestavill”, which has given concerts in Trondheim, Berlin and New York. Vestavill is known for its musical concept in which music, text and history together create a performance, and its repertoire ranges from Grieg and Shostakovich to Reger and Montsalvatge.
