The Festival Chamber Orchestra was established in 2012 on the initiative of the St. Wenceslas Music Festival. This chamber ensemble is formed by foremost players of the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra Ostrava and other chamber ensembles of the Moravian-Silesian region. The leader is the violinist Jakub Černohorský, artistic director of the Janáček Chamber Orchestra and leading violinist of the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra Ostrava. The Festival Chamber Orchestra will perform within the 13th year of the St. Wenceslas Music Festival under the baton of Vojtěch Spurný, conductor and excellent harpsichord player, specialist in the field of authentic interpretation of ancient music.
