Simona Šaturová

Simona Houda-Šaturová is a sought-after interpreter of Mozart roles and of the Italian bel canto repertoire as well as a renowned concert singer. Her signature parts include Mozart’s Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Ilia (Idomeneo), and Donna Anna (Don Giovanni); Rossini’s Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia); Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, Adina (L’elisir d’amore); Bellini’s Giulietta (I Capuletti e i Montecchi), or Verdi’s Voioletta (La traviata) and Gilda (Rigoletto). She has been featured in major concert and opera productions in the Teatro Colón of Buenos Aires, Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Opéra de Monte-Carlo, New York’s Carnegie Hall, Frankfurt Opera, Vienna’s Konzerthaus, Tonhalle Zurich, Munich’s Herkules-Saal, and festivals in Salzburg, Edinburgh and Lucerne. She is a welcome guest of the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels and the National Theatre Opera in Prague. Simona Houda-Šaturová is also a renowned concert singer. She has cooperated with eminent conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach, Manfred Honeck, Adam Fischer, Jiří Bělohlávek, Helmuth Rilling, Iván Fischer, Christopher Hogwood, Tomáš Netopil, Philippe Herreweghe, Neville Marriner, Leopold Hager, Sylvain Cambreling, Kent Nagano, Rolf Beck, Louis Langrée and others. Simona Houda-Šaturová received the Award of Charlotte and Walter Hamel Foundation for exceptional vocal performances (Lübeck 2007), and the 2001 Thalia Award for the best Opera Performance.
