Tomáš
Badura graduated as a soloist singer from the Janacek Conservatory Ostrava and than
Janacek Academy of Fine Arts in Brno. He´s a laureate of the International Antonín
Dvorak´s Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary (1993). As a guest he performed at
the National Theatre in Brno (J. Offenbach – Hoffmann´s Stories, M. Ravel – The
Spanish hour). In 2001 he gave a number of recitals of Dvořák´s and Janáček´s
songs at the Long Beach Opera in Los Angeles. He is a soloist singer of the Czech Philharmonic Choir
of Brno and he appears regularly in it´s concert activities. He is also a member
of the Orfeo Chamber Opera.
Thanks to his tenor-baritone voice, which
he was endowed with, his repertoir includes both baritone parts (A. Dvořák- Te
Deum, B. Martinů – Field Mass, The Mountain of Three Lights, The Prophecy of
Isaiah, G. Fauré – Requiem, etc.), and tenor parts (e.g. J. J. Ryba- Czech
Christmas Mass, J. Pavlica – Missa Brevis).
As a soloist, he cooperated with most of the czech orchestras: Brno Philharmonic Orchestra, Janacek Philharmonic Ostrava, Hradec Králové Philharmonic, Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic Orchestra, South Bohemian Chamber Philharmonic, Czech Chamber Soloist etc. He regularly appears as a soloist at festivals such as Moravian Autumn, Easter Festival of Sacred Music Brno, Peter Dvorsky International Music Festival, Spilberk International Music Festival, Janacek May International Music Festival, St. Wenceslas Music festival etc.
Beside this, Tomáš Badura is an active teacher and a member of QVOX since it´s founding in 1997.
