Stanislava Mihalcová dedicates herself to singing since her childhood. She started studying opera singing at the Conservatory in Žilina (SK) and then continued her vocal studies with Magdalena Hajóssyová at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (CZ). In 2005, she completed a study residence at the North Netherlands Conservatory in Groningen (NL) with Jan and Gerda van Zelm. She also followed interpretation courses in baroque music with Marius van Altena and Julie Hassler, and international interpretation courses in Baden (AT) with Magda Nador. In 2011, she earned a first place in the category Lied at the International Singing Contest in Carlsbad (CZ). Although she devotes herself mainly to classicist and baroque music, the Lied forms a significant part of her repertoire. She cooperates primarily with early-music ensembles and with these she performed at major domestic and foreign festivals, such as the Prague Spring and St. Wenceslas Festivals (CZ), Sablé and Chaise-Dieu Festivals (FR), Festival de Música Sacra de Bilbao (ES), among others. In 2005, she sang the role of Suzanna in Mozart’s opera Le Nozze di Figaro, in a joint project of the Prague Chamber Opera and the Music Division of the Prague Academy of Fine Arts. In 2009, she sang the role of Sirena in Handel’s opera Rinaldo in Prague’s National Theatre, followed by performances in Caen, Rennes, Luxemburg and in 2011 in Versailles.
