Peter Jarůšek

He is the winner of the Heran Violoncello Competition in 1992 (1st Prize), the Bohuslav Martinů Piano Trio Competition in 1997 where he performed with V. Jarůšková and J. Kollert (1st Prize) and the laureate of the International Tribune of Young Performers UNESCO in 1998 (Ljubljana, Slovenia).
As a soloist he has performed with Prague Philharmonia, Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, Talich Chamber Orchestra, Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, Capella Istropolitana and others. Between 1998 and 2003 he was a member of the Škampa Quartet. Since 2004, he is a member of the Pavel Haas Quartet.
He has performed at international music festivals in Edinburgh, Aldeburgh, Cheltenham, and Warwick (Great Britain); Saint-Nazaire and Luberone (France); Amsterdam (Holland); Istanbul (Turkey), and Melbourne (Australia). He has also played concerts at the Wigmore Hall (London); the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam); the Kaufman Hall (New York); the Symphony Hall (Sydney); the Gate Theatre (Dublin); the Konzerthaus (Vienna), and the Rudolfinum (Prague). Despite his youth, he is a highly sought-after expert in the fields of education and chamber music. Between 2001 and 2003, he worked at the Royal Academy in London as a guest professor of chamber music. He has headed master classes at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam (1999 and 2003), the University of Tasmania (1999), the University of Mexico City (2001), and the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (2002).
