Marián Krejčík

Marian Krejcik was born in 1978 in the former Czechoslovakia. He studied law at the Charles University in Prag. During his studies he gave himself up to an authentic interpretation of an older music as a member of several leading czech baroque ensembles (Musica Florea, Collegium Marianum, Ensemble Inégal). There he also took course on semiology led by David Eben at the Faculty of Philosophy. He became member of the Schola Gregoriana Pragensis, with which he recorded several CDs, some of them have been internationaly awarded. In 2003 - 2009 he studied singing at the classes of Björn Waag and Elisabeth Glauser at the Music Academy in Basel, where he graduated in June 2007 with a distinction. He achieved his concert diploma in 2009. He took part in Opera and Singing courses by Malin Hartelius, Krisztina Laki or Jennifer Larmore. Marian Krejcik appears regularly as a soloist with diverse orchestras all over the Europe (Orquesta Sinf?nica de Granada, Sinfonietta Basel, Capriccio Basel, Berner Kammerorchester, Kammerorchester Basel, Holland Baroque Society, Le Parlement de Musique, La Cetra, Collegium 1704). In recent years he worked together with the Cultural Festival Origen in the Swiss Grisons, within the framework of which he participated on premieres of several contemporary operas. During the season 2005/2006 he appeared in the Dido and Aeneas production of the Theater Basel, directed by Sebastian Nübling. In 2008/2009 he made his debut as Melisso in Alcina on the Hans-Otto-Theater in Potsdam conducted by Andrea Marcon. In summer 2009 he successfully cooperated with Martin Gester at the Académie Baroque Européenne d’Ambronay as Leporello and Papageno. Beside baroque oratorio, which is the fundamental part of his repertoire, and classical compositions, he devotes his attention to the romantic and modern Lied.
